100 Years On

Our school was founded on 19 February 1919 and now 2019 is our year to celebrate and acknowledge our Centenary. We would like this to be a celebration to remember and we wish for all our students, Old Girls, current and former parents, and staff to join us.

The College’s original purpose, as stated in its first prospectus, was ‘to provide for girls a sound intellectual and moral education and to build up strong Christian character on a broad religious basis and thus to produce the best type of girlhood and womanhood’. Today, this remains to ring true as we continue to produce young women of this calibre in the form of passionate learners, resilient women and future leaders.

Our outstanding academic results and ongoing sporting and cultural success is testament to the soundness of our Founder’s original vision. 100 years on, the College continues to deliver a rich holistic education to our girls. It is not every day that a school has the opportunity to celebrate such a unique milestone. The Centenary allows us to relish in our successes and take a moment to come together, connect, reminisce and join in a series of unique and special events. This is an occasion not to be missed.

100 Stories

From artists to scientists, sportswomen to doctors, veterinarians to directors, to famous and familiar faces – our Old Girls have done it all. We have selected 100 stories about some of the remarkable women who have had success after school or have fond memories of their time at Queen Margaret College to highlight some of the amazing women our College has produced. We hope you enjoy reading and feel inspired by these stories. The sky is the limit to what you can achieve.
